Michelin facility earns award
Michelin’s truck tire plant in Spartanburg, S.C., recently was presented a Michelin Global Safety Award for attaining 2 million safe work hours without a serious injury. The Spartanburg plant is one of only four Michelin plants worldwide to earn this distinction. In a ceremony at the plant, Pete Selleck, president of Michelin’s worldwide truck tire business and member of Michelin Group Executive Council, presented the award to plant manager, Tom Whalen.

Peterbilt builds 300,000th truck
Peterbilt Motors Co. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, celebrated a significant milestone at the company’s manufacturing facility in Denton, Texas, with the completion of its 300,000th production truck. Delivery of the Model 387 aerodynamic truck to Witte Brothers Exchange Inc. was done at the Denton plant amongst Peterbilt employees, local government officials and the media.
