TCA webcast to explore CSA 2010

By eTrucker Staff

The Truckload Carriers Association will hold a webcast Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. ET to address the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's efforts to reshape how it ensures that motor carriers are operating safety.

The Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 initiative currently is being tested in eight states and is scheduled to be rolled out nationwide by the end of 2010. The goal is to replace the current oversight system that focuses on a small number of intense compliance reviews with a data-driven regime that essentially reviews all motor carriers and drivers every 30 days.

Leading the webcast will be Kevin Burch, president of Jet Express in Dayton, Ohio, and Jeff Davis, C.D.S., vice president of safety and human resources at Jet Express. Burch currently is TCA chairman, and Davis is a frequent speaker on a range of safety issues, including CSA 2010.
