Small increase in diesel prices

The national average retail price of a gallon of diesel increased slightly for the fourth consecutive week, inching up less than 1 cent to $2.808 for the week ended Nov. 2, according to the Department of Energy.

All regions tracked by DOE recorded small increases except the Midwest. Leading the way was a 3.5-cent gain to $2.878 in New England. The cheapest diesel remains in the Gulf Coast, where the average price climbed less than a penny to $2.749. California, which has the costliest diesel at $2.974, increased less than 1 cent from the previous week.
