I-405 closure near Seattle planned

By eTrucker Staff

Drivers on Interstate 405 in Renton, Wash., will encounter a weekend closure the second weekend in July, the Washington State Department of Transportation said.

Crews will fully close both directions of I-405 between State Route 167 and the Maple Valley Highway (State Route 169) beginning 2 a.m. Saturday, July 10, for a bridge demolition. All lanes will reopen by 11 a.m. Sunday, July 11.

WSDOT said that during this 33-hour closure, crews will remove a bridge as part of the I-405 widening project. To safely remove the structure, crews need to completely close I-405 in Renton to tear down and haul off the old bridge.
