Cascade Sierra to offer rebates

By eTrucker Staff

The U.S. Environmental Protection New England Region has awarded over $1 million in Recovery Act/Clean Diesel funding to Cascade Sierra Solutions to provide instant rebates for installing SmartWay verified technology upgrades on diesel trucks registered in six New England states.

"Truckers are hard working people that can be difficult to reach when they are on the road," says Dave Orton, Cascade Sierra Solutions marketing communications manager. "We need help spreading the word that these rebates are available to help these New England based businesses get fuel saving upgrades for their tractors and trailers."

The rebate program is currently open and the rebates will be provided on a first-come basis for qualified projects until the funds are distributed.

Owners of heavy-duty diesel trucks who are registered and operate in the Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island or Connecticut.

The upgraded tractors and/or trailers must be owned or on a lease-to-own basis (not on an operational lease) and the equipment must have five years of projected useful life remaining. Independent owner-operators and fleets are eligible, but projects are limited to 10 percent of the total rebate program funding. Rebates range from $100 to $1,000.

To find out more about this program and how to apply for a rebate, contact Cascade Sierra Solutions at (866) 345-3390, ext 277, or e-mail to EPAdata1@CascadeSierraSolutions.org.
