Murphy-Hoffman achieves ISO recertification
By CCJ Staff
Murphy-Hoffman Co. says it became one of the first truck dealership groups to achieve ISO certification for quality in customer service, and that it recently was ISO-recertified for the second time.
MHC says this achievement reflects nearly six years of continual development since its Quality Management System initially was certified. MHC’s emphasis on quality began in 2000 when the company introduced the ISO initiative to develop operating standards for optimal business performance. In 2003, MHC became fully ISO-certified, and the company followed up with its first recertification in 2006.
The ISO 9001 certification defines quality for service-oriented businesses. ISO requires each task be performed the same way every time, at every location. To become recertified, MHC faced review by an independent third-party ISO auditer. This review process takes place once every three years.
“Obtaining recertification shows that we have maintained high standards throughout our locations,” says Timothy Murphy, MHC president. “Quality customer service is at the core of MHC’s business philosophy, and this achievement showcases that. MHC is committed to providing industry-leading customer service in the most efficient manner possible.”
MHC says its Quality Assurance Department plays a key role in ensuring that each location is compliant to ISO standards. The department regularly conducts internal audits and reviews of quality practices to ensure the high standards continue.
“This award recognizes the dedicated efforts of our employees,” Murphy says. “Each department’s work to be compliant and provide the best service possible is the cornerstone of this achievement. In the future, we will continue to improve our comprehensive quality management system so we are able to maintain our position as a leader in the industry.” |
