Oil Purification Systems honored for quality improvement
By CCJ Staff
Oil Purification Systems, a provider of fluid cleaning technology, announced that the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award Partnership has recognized the Waterbury-based company with its gold level Innovation Prize for its Eco-Pur System, a supplemental filtration system designed to use electronic controls to continuously optimize the cleaning process and remove both solid and liquid contaminants from lubricating oil. This is the third consecutive year that OPS has been awarded the CQIA Innovation Prize.
The Connecticut Quality Improvement Awards are America’s oldest state-level awards and are judged based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Criteria for Performance Excellence. The CQIA recognizes accomplishments during the first stages of the quality journey for all Connecticut-located organizations. It is meant to stimulate interest in organizations to implement quality while fostering recognition of innovative improvements.
“OPS works tirelessly to provide innovative products and technologies that enable our customers to save time and money with fewer oil changes, while also promoting environmental sustainability,” says Greg Slawson, chief executive officer of Oil Purification Systems. “We are pleased to be recognized by the CQIA Partnership for the third year in a row, and are dedicated to continue building upon our technology with even greater innovation in the future.”
OPS and other recipients were judged based on their ability to solve a problem or leverage an opportunity within an organization by using a new service, process or product that has been developed within the last five years. In 2009, OPS also was recognized for Best Available Environmental Technology by the National Association of Environmental Professionals, and was the recipient of the first investment made under the Connecticut Clean Tech Fund, which is administered by Connecticut Innovations (CI). |
