Leland Martin joins Truckers for Troops

By Lanier Norville

Cover for Leland Martin's "Truckers for Troops" CD.
Country singer Leland Martin is partnering with The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association to raise funds for OOIDA's Truckers for Troops program. A portion of proceeds from the sale of Martin's recent CD, "Truckers for Troops," will go to the program, which sends care packages to troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Martin, a longtime OOIDA member, told the Association that he produced the CD to raise funds for the program and said that he has always felt inspired by truckers as well as by those serving in the U.S. military.

The new CD includes 12 original songs written by Martin that focus on patriotism and trucking. It can be purchased at performances during the Petro Truck Stop tour or from Martin’s website, www.lelandmartin.com. The tour ends today, June 30, in El Paso, Texas.
