Evans Network opens new Southeast service centers

The Evans Network of Companies announced the opening of new service centers in Charlotte, N.C., near major highway networks; and Charleston, S.C., close by the port facilities. The Charlotte service center currently contracts with 15 owner-operators and has plans to increase to 20 drivers; Evans Delivery contracts with 48 drivers at the Charleston location.

"These two Southeast locations now offer competitive, direct access to better serve our customers," says Albert L. Evans Jr., president and chief executive officer of the Evans Network, based in Schuylkill Haven, Pa. "Both are in a prime location, offering shippers quick and reliable service."

Bill Coleman, agent for Evans Delivery, operates both facilities. "The slow economy will impact the growth of our business, but I believe we will triple our service next year due to our new service center capabilities," Coleman says. "The Evans' staff, financial support and user-friendly technology makes it easy to focus my efforts on expanding the business."
