Iowa 80 Truckstop recently announced that Aaron Tippin will be performing at the 2009 Walcott Truckers Jamboree on July 9th at 7 p.m. The concert is being sponsored by Mobil Delvac.
In addition to the live Aaron Tippin concert, this year’s event will feature a gigantic anniversary cake; over 200 exhibits; a Super Truck Beauty Contest, Antique Truck Display; Iowa pork chop cookout; Trucker Olympics; carnival games; live music; and a fireworks display. Admission and parking are free. Shuttles will be provided from the parking area to the event grounds.
The Walcott Truckers Jamboree began in 1979 featuring a few exhibits, live music, food and a small display of antique trucks. That first Jamboree only attracted a few hundred drivers, a far cry from the 30,000 it attracts today. It is Iowa 80′s way of thanking drivers for all of their hard work and dedication in hauling America’s freight. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the event and 45th Anniversary for Iowa 80 Truckstop.
